Look What I’ve Done To My PC!
I was feeling bored but at the same time wanting to do something different. As I was thinking different, Apple’s Mac tagline, “Think Different” comes into mind. That’s how it all started. From last time, I’ve always been fascinated by Mac OS as it looks very stylish and sleek. I guess that’s just one of the reasons why most graphic designers love Mac OS so much.
Honestly, I never really get to meddle around with Mac OS that much as most of my peers are using Windows. Well since I can’t get Mac, why not I transform my pc to look like a Mac? That’s exactly what I did. First thing I do before I do something new, I always ask my “Sifu”, which is Google.
Almost everything was learnt by just Googling for answers. I started off by typing “ how to turn pc into mac”, and as expected, I wasn’t the only one. I even installed skin for my FireFox to look like Mac.
The reason why I prefer FireFox to Safari is because of the ram usage. I’ve noticed that Safari tends to use up more memory than FireFox. There were so many links and tutorials on how to do it. It really took me quite a while to install and configure here and there but it was fun. And the most important thing is, I get to try and learn new things today!
Actually, I’ve done this before way back but I did the easy way. Where by I downloaded this 1 click install software which was called “Flyakite OSX transformation pack”. Well definitely it was a wrong move. No doubt that installing it was easy and you get what you want, but eventually your pc will start to have problems which will eventually, you will have to reformat your whole hard drive. So my advice is, do not download and install “FlyakiteOSX “ at all cost! Well, good things in life don’t come easy.
P.S: I also enabled font rendering for my FireFox so that the fonts looks sharper and clearer like the ones used in Safari Browser. However, this can only be done if you’re using FireFox 2.0 or lower.
